# Billing and Subscriptions

## Overview

Couchdrop accounts start with a **14-day free trial** on the Business plan. During the trial, you can configure and test Couchdrop before starting a paid plan.

Couchdrop plans are month-to-month, with no long-term subscription required. You can change your plan or cancel your account at any time.

Upgrading from a trial does not require any migration or reconfiguration. Your existing users, connections, Automations, workflows, and account settings remain in place.

{% hint style="info" %}
If your organization requires annual billing, purchase orders, a longer agreement term, or a custom contract, contact <sales@couchdrop.io>.
{% endhint %}

## Upgrade from a trial

Only the **Account Owner** can access billing and subscription settings.

Before upgrading, you will need:

* Access to the Account Owner
* A valid payment method
* The Couchdrop plan you want to use

To upgrade:

1. Sign in to [Couchdrop](https://my.couchdrop.io/).
2. Select **Upgrade Plan** from the bottom-left corner.
3. Select your Couchdrop plan.
4. Click **Subscribe**.
5. Enter your billing and payment details.
6. Confirm the subscription.

Once payment has been processed, your paid subscription becomes active.

{% hint style="success" %}
Upgrading does not reset your account. Your existing users, connections, Automations, workflows, SFTP endpoints, and configuration remain unchanged.
{% endhint %}

## Change your plan

Couchdrop subscriptions are month-to-month, so you can change your plan as your requirements change.

Billing and subscription changes are managed by the **Account Owner** through the Couchdrop billing section.

If you need help choosing a plan or require a custom agreement, contact <sales@couchdrop.io>.

## Cancel your subscription

You can cancel your Couchdrop subscription at any time.

After cancellation, your account remains active until the end of the current paid period.

Once the paid period ends, your account data is retained for **90 days**.

{% hint style="warning" %}
After the 90-day retention period, your account data is deleted. Signing up again with the same email address will create a new Couchdrop account.
{% endhint %}

## Enterprise and assisted billing

Contact <sales@couchdrop.io> if your organization requires billing or contracting arrangements outside the standard month-to-month subscription.

This can include:

* Annual billing
* Purchase orders
* Longer agreement terms
* Custom contracts
* Security reviews
* Enterprise onboarding

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.couchdrop.io/support/billing-and-subscriptions.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
