# Google Files (Individual Drive)

Learn how to connect Couchdrop to a Google Drive folder

## Overview

Couchdrop can connect directly to a personal Google Drive account and make that storage available through Couchdrop.

Once connected, you can use files and folders in Google Drive with Couchdrop file transfer and workflow features while keeping the files in your existing Google Drive storage.

## How to connect Google Drive

#### Before you start

To connect Google Drive, you will need:

* A licensed Google Drive account
* A folder in Google Drive that you want Couchdrop to access

### Add a new storage connection

In Couchdrop, add a new storage connection and select **Google Files** from the list of available connections.

### Configure Google Drive

Enter a **Name for this integration** and select the **Couchdrop folder path** where the Google Drive connection will appear.

Select **Authorize Google** and complete the Google authorization process.

Couchdrop uses authorized access to the Google Drive APIs to list folder contents and upload, download, delete, and modify files stored in Google Drive. This access is handled in accordance with Couchdrop's privacy policy and terms of service.

Couchdrop does not resell or share data obtained through the Google Drive APIs.

Select **Save and Test** to verify the Google Drive connection.

### Map your storage location

After the connection has been tested, you can optionally select a specific Google Drive folder to map into Couchdrop.

Leaving this blank allows Couchdrop to map the Google Drive connection without restricting it to a specific folder.

When a Google Drive folder is selected, Couchdrop limits the connection to that location and its subfolders.

### Save and use your Google Files connection

Optionally, configure **Transfer Shield** to surface or block unexpected, non-compliant, or malicious files uploaded through this connection.

When the configuration is complete, save the integration.

Yes. You can create separate Google Drive connections in Couchdrop and map each connection to a different Couchdrop folder path.
