# Dropbox

Learn how to connect Couchdrop to Dropbox

## Overview

Couchdrop can connect directly to Dropbox Personal or Dropbox Business and make that storage available through Couchdrop.

Once connected, you can use Dropbox with Couchdrop file transfer and workflow features while keeping files in your existing Dropbox account.

### Dropbox Personal

Use **Dropbox Personal** when connecting an individual Dropbox account.

Couchdrop requests access to the Dropbox APIs so it can list folder contents and upload, download, delete, and make changes to content stored in Dropbox.

### Dropbox Team

Use **Dropbox Team** when connecting a Dropbox Business account.

The configuration is similar to Dropbox Personal, with an additional **Administrator Account** field used when connecting the Dropbox team.

## How to connect Dropbox

#### Before you start

To connect Dropbox, you will need:

* A licensed Dropbox account
* Access to an Administrator account if you are connecting Dropbox Business

### Add a new storage connection

In Couchdrop, add a new storage connection.

Select **Dropbox Personal** if you are connecting an individual Dropbox account, or **Dropbox Team** if you are connecting Dropbox Business.

### Configure Dropbox

Enter a **Name for this integration** and select the **Couchdrop folder path** where the connection will appear.

For **Dropbox Team**, enter the **Administrator Account** that Couchdrop will use for the connection.

Select **Authorize Dropbox** and complete the Dropbox authorization process to grant Couchdrop access to the account.

Select **Save and Test** to verify the Dropbox connection.

### Map your Dropbox folder

After the connection has been tested, you can select a Dropbox user or specific folder to map into Couchdrop.

Leaving the folder blank allows Couchdrop to map the Dropbox connection without restricting it to a specific subfolder.

### Save and use your Dropbox integration

Optionally, configure **Transfer Shield** to surface or block unexpected, non-compliant, or malicious files uploaded through this connection.

When the configuration is complete, save the integration.
