# Account Expiry

Learn about account expiry in Couchdrop

Account expiry lets you automatically disable access for users that only need Couchdrop for a limited period.

Any Couchdrop account except the **Owner** can be configured with an expiry. Once the account expires, the user can no longer access Couchdrop.

This is useful for temporary staff, contractors, partners, or other users who should only retain access for a defined period. SFTP users also include an **Expiry** setting, where you can choose **Never Expire** or configure the account to expire after a specified period.
